Your personal choice of music will be what determines your top ten favorite songs however this does not stop every single radio station, music TV program and other music festivals from creating their own top ten. The fact is that most radio stations that use their listeners to vote for their favorite songs to rank the top ten are able to cast as many of their own votes as they like so that any particular song fits into the number one spot.

If rock, pop, rap and hip hop are not your favorite genre they listening to a commercial radio station or popular music TV show will not really give you any indication about what is hot in your line of good music. The classics, jazz, opera, blues, symphonies and harmonies or the tenors can all be found in different places to see what is still doing well or if anything new has come along to the scene. There are several different ways of finding out what is going to be on top through the internet, music festivals and other alternative newspapers.

The top ten songs on the radio in Japan would certainly be different to the top ten in Russia as would theirs be different again to the Americans. They might have several of the same songs in them and the chances of the number one song being universal is quite good however no matter where you are from there is always going to be a different kind of music that only you will enjoy on that personal level.

Lyrics from Nelly Just a Dream

Filed under: Top Ten Songs - 17 Nov 2010  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

I was thinkin about her and thinkin about me.

Thinkin about us, what we going to be?

Open my eyes, yeah; it was only just a dream.

So I was traveling back, down that road.

Who she come back? No one knows.

I realize, yeah, it was only just a dream.

I was at the top and I was like I am at the bottom basement.

Number one spot and now she found her a replacement.

I swear now I can not take it anymore, knowing somebody’s got my baby.

And now you ain’t been around, baby I can’t think.

Shoulda put it down. Should have got that ring.

Cuz I can still feel it in the air.

See her pretty face run my fingers through her hair.

My lover is my life. My shorty now my wife.

She left me, I’m tied.

Cuz I knew that it just ain’t right.

I was thinkin about her and thinkin about me.

Thinkin about us, what we going to be?

Open my eyes, yeah; it was only just a dream.

So I travel back, down that road.

Who she come back? No one knows.

I realize, yeah, it was only just a dream.

When I be ridin man I swear I see her face at every turn.

Tryin to get my usher over, I can let it burn.

And I just hope she notice she the only one I yearn for.

Oh I miss her when will I learn?

Dynamite by Taio Cruz

Filed under: Top Ten Songs - 19 Aug 2010  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

It is notoriously difficult to break into the music industry nowadays. It used to be that the most talented people would be able to forge a career in music; record companies were not bombarded by people to the same extent they are today. Indeed, it can often be argued that the Beatles may not have been able to break through. It is increasingly difficult to sift through all the average musicians who are now releasing singles and find the few gems that are hidden in and amongst them. However, it can be done.

That’s not all, it has been done! After years of trying to forge a music career by song writing for many top musicians such as Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears Taio Cruz has broken onto the scene with a superb new song called Dynamite. Dynamite is one of the hottest new tunes to come out this summer and is currently sitting in the top ten of the UK Billboard chart. However, the single is expected to really take off in the charts now that the Schools have broken up and downloads are likely to boom over the coming weeks. The song is likely to be an R n B classic and has a catchy tune that will keep you dancing long into the winter. With such a track record of song writing, Taio Cruz is undoubtedly one of the tips to become a music sensation over the coming years and is likely to be a name that is on the lips of song requesters throughout the country for years to come.

Love the Way You Lie by Eminem

Filed under: Top Ten Songs - 10 Aug 2010  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

“Just gonna stand there and watch me burn”. Those are the opening words in this amazingly beautiful, poetic and emotionally wrenching song. On one level it is a great song that can explain the battles that every couple has to go through in order to stay together and also how many people feel after and during their fights with their significant other. However, there is another level to this song that isn’t simply about what it says and isn’t really about what you may think either.

This song offers people a chance to glean a picture of what it’s like for someone in a place like Eminem where the world seems to crash over you and you can’t fight your way out. You try your hardest and you just can’t seem to make it work between your job, your bills, your issues and your significant other. There is a deeper message to this song that is often overlooked, by critics and casual listeners alike. To be able to find someone or something that helps make you who you are and which can help you to be the person you want to be is something magical and to have it torn away from you because of something stupid, either in action, with words or event in your life is a tragedy that can be hard to deal with.

On a more basic level, this is a song that will appeal to couples and individuals alike as there is nobody out there who hasn’t felt strongly about someone, and even fewer who haven’t made a mistake in a relationship. To apologize and fall into the same situation doesn’t cut it and can’t help, but you keep trying.

[Facebook] [Twitter]

The Australian Music Sales Charts are issued weekly by the Australian Recording Industry Association. The ARIA charts are the main focus for these figures. The charts record the highest selling singles and albums in Australia. ARIA commenced compiling its own charts in 1988. Before they started making their own in house charts they had the license for the Kent Music Report. The top five singles and albums are firstly published in News Limited newspapers every Sunday. The full charts are published on the ARIA Chart website every Sunday night at 6.30pm. The charts are then available for printing the next business day.

Charts are dated on the Monday of the given week. The printed lists are shortened versions of the full charts. Only the top fifty singles and albums are shown as well as the top forty digital tracks. For the full lists are available via paid email subscription weekly. All charts are uploaded to the Pandora Archive.

Charts are formulated based on the data collected from selected retailers around Australia. The top forty digital track chart and the top one hundred singles charts include data from online retailers that include iTunes and BigPond music. It was in October 2006 that the official ARIA singles chart included online data as well as over the counter sales.

A music single or album will qualify for a platinum certification if it can exceed seventy thousand copies being shipped to retailers. Gold certification is reached for thirty five thousand copies being shipped. These amounts were changed in 1989 when the amounts were one hundred thousand copies for platinum and fifty thousand copies for gold certification. These larger amounts were for LP record sales. The ARIA certification is now most commonly awarded for compact disc sales and legitimate digital downloads. Music DVD, which were formally released onto video receive a gold accreditation for seven thousand five hundred copies shipped and platinum for fifteen thousand copies shipped. To receive accreditation for gold or platinum sales do not enter into the tally only the amount of units shipped to the stores.

Filed under: Top Ten Songs - 26 Feb 2010  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

The top ten songs for February 2010 are as follows.

Rated by the Apple iTunes top ten hits we can see little changes from the beginning of the year.

We are the World – relief for the Haiti devastation that hit the small country in the form of a dangerous earthquake.

Imma Be – by the famous Black Eyed Peas which will no doubt stay in the charts for a long time like most of their songs do.

Hey, soul sister – by the song singers Train will also be another song that is remembered in the early 2010s.

Need You Now – is a great tribute love rock song by a poplar artist Lady Antebellum.

Tik Tok – by Kesha is more famous for her being only partly clothed in her music videos rather than her being any good at singing.

Blah Blah Blah – is another song by Kesha which again has little to do with her talent as an entertainer and rather the fact that her film clips are rather smutty.

In My Head – is one song that has a fifty, fifty chance of survival over a long period depending on what other songs it has to come up against. Jason Derulo is the singer of In My Head.

Baby – is another song which is hanging by a thread in the charts only to be overtaken by the next identical song of its genre.

Bad Romance – by Lady GaGa will surely start climbing to the top of the charts over the next month or two.

Nothin’ on You – is in the number ten spot this month and is not likely to be making an appearance in March.

Why We Have Top Ten Song Lists

Filed under: Top Ten Songs - 15 Jan 2010  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

Music is an avenue that gets us through many times. We listen when we are bored, happy, sad, mad, or even feeling creative. We listen and sing songs when we are worshiping as well. Music is a form of expression. It brings feeling to the words. This is why we have lists of top ten songs.

If certain songs are popular and we listen to the radio those songs bring up memories. Even if we didn’t like a song the first time we heard it the chances are with time we started to catch on to the beat or words. There are top ten songs lists for every genre, season, year, and even decade. Top ten charts go by the number of album purchases, survey answers, and even radio play of a song. You may not agree with top ten song lists, but you probably agree with some of the choices.

What makes a song popular is more than just the sound and words. If a singer or band is attractive or outrageously different it will catch peoples’ attention. Since the arrival of the music video some musicians have been made stars though they lacked the voice of a true star. Another reason a song can gain popularity is if a dance is added. Hip hop singers and even Christian singers have learned that if a dance is added to a song it will become popular. No matter how annoying and pathetic a song is or how much we hate it, if a dance is added we will be curious.
